Biography & Introduction
Abdul Jabbar Qureshi is a distinguished Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan with over 14 years of experience. He is a seasoned legal professional and a highly accomplished advocate with more than three decades of expertise in the field of law, particularly in the areas of constitutional law, criminal law, and civil litigation.
In 2021, Mr. Qureshi was appointed as a Member of the Customs Appellate Tribunal-I due to his unparalleled legal expertise and command over complex legal matters. During his tenure, he delivered hundreds of judgments, setting a record for any member in recent years. Notably, over 40 of these judgments were reported in prominent legal journals across Pakistan.
In 2018, he was appointed as Deputy Attorney General-I for Pakistan, with additional responsibilities as the legal head of the Financial Monitoring Unit, a key institution established under the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2010 (AMLA) to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
His professional career in significant legal roles began in 2013 when he was appointed as Assistant Advocate General Sindh during the interim government. Due to his exemplary performance, following the 2014 elections, the new government appointed him to the same position and he served for over three years, contributing to the legal framework of the province.
Mr. Qureshi has represented clients in numerous high-profile cases across Pakistan, appearing before various judicial forums. He possesses an extensive academic foundation in law and its related disciplines, and in recognition of his exceptional knowledge, he was appointed as the first coordinator and curriculum designer for both undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Shaheed Zulfigar Ali Bhutto University of Law, Karachi. Furthermore, in 2010, he was elected Vice-President of the Sindh High Court Bar Association.
